Superman, Man of Steel: Movie UPDATES 3/28/11

4/11/11 - Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures have released more casting information regarding the Superman reboot being directed by Zack Snyder. The film, officially titled, "Man of Steel" has its villian!

Michael Shannon will play General Zod again Henry Cavill's Superman. Shannon's acting career includes an Oscar nominated role in Revolutionary Road and most recently working on HBO's Boardwalk Empire.

The cast is getting bigger but still no mention of Lex Luthor. Are they saving him for a sequel? Are they avoiding the multiple villians plot? Follow us on Twitter, Like us on Facebook, and keep your eyes turned to Fanboy Headquarters for future announcements on the "Man of Steel."

3/28/11 - Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures made another major announcement over the weekend for the new Superman movie coming in 2012. The internet was abuzz with: "Amy Adams has been cast as Lois Lane!" The Oscar nominated actress has had several roles over the years and brings a lot of potential to the role.

Amy Adams follows Erica Durance, Kate Bosworth, Teri Hatcher, Margot Kidder and Noel Neill as Lois Lane on TV and  in movies.

Now that the Superhero, the Kent family, and Lois Lane have been cast, there leaves little cast left to reveal. I don't know about you, but I am eager to hear who will play Lex Luthor (they better have a Lex Luthor). There is still hero-pal Jimmy Olsen and Daily Planet Editor-in-Chief, Perry White to cast as well.

Stay tuned to Fanboy Headquarters for updates on this new take on Superman

3/18/11 - Warner Bros. officially announced that Kevin Costner will play Jonathan Kent in Zack Snyder's Superman movie reboot scheduled for 2012. Costner joins Diane Lane as Martha Kent and Henry Cavill as the world's greatest super hero.

In the press release, Snyder stated, “Jonathan Kent is the only father figure Clark has ever had, the man who was there to help Clark understand what he was meant to do in the world as Superman. Kevin will be able to communicate the quiet strength of this rural American man who raised the greatest super hero of all time.”

The casting so far has been phenomenal in my opinion. There are several more key roles to be announced, so keep your eyes on Fanboy Headquarters for updates as they break.
