Martin’s Comic Con Day 2 Sum Up

After 12 hours of Hall H the day before, I needed to stretch my legs around Comic Con. I spent day 2 walking the entire exhibit hall floor, exploring the gaslamp district and drooling over Batmobiles. The floor was alive with excitement and lines from open to close. This year, the outside of the convention center and the Gaslamp District were filled with Comic Con related activities. Finally, next door to the Con, Warner Bros. brought the Batcave to San Diego to show off the six movie Batmobiles. It was a lot to take in and totally worth the SWAG pulled in. READ MORE>

Martin’s San Diego Comic Con Day 1 Sum Up

The annual pop-culture-palooza has begun! And Day One already packed in HUGE moments. Panel room were filled beyond capacity, the exhibit hall had lines wrapped around booths, and offsite fans were doing their part to alleviate the convention crowding. I spent the day in Hall H to see Disney and the Expendables 2 panels. It was a long day but well worth it. READ MORE>

Phoenix ComiCon 2012, so much Awesome

A larger exhibit hall, more celebrities and industry talent, two hotels, and almost 1000 hours of programming is one way to summarized the four-day Phoenix ComiCon. Over 30,000 attendees living it up in the heat of Memorial Day weekend is another way to sum up the event. Just as big as that other west coast, so cal convention is probably the best way to describe it. No matter how you characterize Phoenix ComiCon 2012, bottom line it was a really great show.

PhxCC 2012: Hollywood came to Ballroom 120 on Saturday

By far the biggest room of Phoenix ComiCon, Ballroom 120 had people lined up a couple hours before panels were set to begin on Saturday. There were some very recognizable names from the geek world coming to the event and fans did not want to miss an chance to hear what these guests had to say. Starting off the day was the Starship Troopers panel with stars Dina Meyer and Casper Van Dien, followed by the William Shatner hour and finished of by cast members of SyFy channel’s Eureka. Each panel made the crowd laugh even harder than the last and at a couple points even cause a few tears to be shed. Overall, it was an experience hard to find at any other comic convention.

 

PhxCC 2012: ZOMBIES!!!

Keeping with tradition, Friday night at Pheonix ComiCon was all about the undead. The Zombie Walk around the convention center area was larger than ever and lead into the late night Zombie Beauty Pageant. Hundreds of zombies were part of this year’s festivities versus the hundreds more spectators, a whole team of Phoenix’s Police Department and, of course, a zombie defense squad. No matter which side of the fight you were on, it was the place to be Friday night.

PHxCC 2012: Fanboy HQ hosted a Panel!

Having attended comic conventions for close to a decade now, I have learned a few things and have wanted to be a part of a panel for a long time. I was able to live out that dream at the opening night of Phoenix ComiCon 2012, when Fanboy Headquarters hosted the “How to Survive a Comic Con” panel. It took about four months to prepare and only 60 minutes to present our tips and tricks for conventions. It was all I had hoped for and then some.
