Comic Con 2010 is only 14 days away, Are you ready?

San Diego, CA is preparing for an invasion, of the geeky kind. The biggest nerdfest of the year, the San Diego Comic Con starts July 22nd. The Comic Book and SciFi Worlds will be circling the Gaslamp District in less than 2 weeks. This year's convention will be even bigger than before with many new Comic Book series starting soon, DC Comics celebrating it's 75th Anniversary, even more scifi and comic book movies and tv shows premiering than the years past, and several new exclusive action figures, video games, and artist sketches to quench every fanboy's thirst - even the non-fanboy's will be impressed.

My journey started several month's ago as I perused the blogs, rumor sites, news feeds, forum and chatrooms for tidbits on the con. I've been a fanboy (or as i've come to be known, a Brightboy) for as long as I can remember, running around as a kid in my Superman PJs and watching old cartoons. I still own my first comic to this day. And I remember waiting in long lines for Friday night premieres for comic book movies and even the new Star Wars episodes. I am anxious for the chance to catch the first glimpses of the new Tron movie, grabbing free SWAG from all my favorite comic book vendors, and standing in long lines for autographs of my favorite writers, artists and celebrities. I invite you to join me over the next three weeks as I document my journey from "Con Prep" to attending sessions, and the follow up after the convention. I'll have pictures, summaries, "deets" on special announcements, and tips to help you plan your trio to the 2011. In the next week, I will get the glossary of terms, abbreviations, and links posted and talk about planning for the trip (including wardrobe ideas, equipment for a better convention, and efficient scheduling to get the most out of the Con).

Today Comic Con International released the first day schedule (Thursday 7/22) and it already looks to be a day full of awesome sessions including: Movies - Tron:Legacy, The Expendables, RED, DC Comics 75th Anniversary announcements, an exclusive Hellboy/B.P.R.D. Meetup will special giveaways to the private members, and much much more. I'll also be attending Preview night on Wednesday before the conventions kicks off, getting early access to the exhibit hall floor to collect some SWAG ahead of other attendees.
