PHOENIX COMICON 2011 - Day 2 Sum Up

It was another exciting day in Phoenix today. Phoenix Comicon started early and ran late into the night. There were panels with comic talents, about cosplaying and even raving. The day was topped off with one of the big night events of the weekend, the Zombie Walk. There was something for everyone, in every age group. Check out our quick summary of the day below and other articles from the day.

The first panel of the day for Fanboy HQ was the DC and Brightest Day session with talent from the giant publisher coming to talk about what's happening in the DC Universe. Check out Hotshot's coverage at FanboyHQ.com. There was also a panel on "Surviving Conventions" that started with an interesting idea but mostly turned into a follow-the-rules lecture. There were all kinds of other panels for first time con attendees and experienced fanboys alike.

The Exhibit Hall was abuzz all day too. Cosplayers were easy to find and seemed to be on top of their games this year! There were anime, video game costumes, comic book heroes, sci-fi characters and zombies. If today was a taste of the stuff we will see at the Masquerade tomorrow night, its going to be an awesome contest! Check out our Phoenix Comicon Photo Album for some of the best cosplayers from today.
Zombies!
If there was a theme for the day, it had to be ZOMBIES! Tonight was the Zombie Walk and Zombie Beauty Pageant. There were zombies everywhere and if you weren't a zombie, there was a panel for that (Zombie Make-Up). And where there's zombies assembling, you can bet there are zombie death squads close by to protect the public. Brightboy has more to report from these events at FanboyHQ.com.

Fanboy Headquarters made some new friends today too. This morning we met the Arizona Avengers who are a group of cosplayers that work for a great cause. They are partnered with Tracy's Toothfairy to raise money for a charity that helps kids dealing with side effects from cancer treatment. Check them out at www.facebook.com/arizonaavengers. During the Zombie Beauty Pageant we met Jacob from http://www.mynorityreport.com/. Check them out for podcasts on gaming, technology, movies and all those cool things.

Another day in the books for Phoenix Comicon, but the fat lady certainly hasn't sang yet in this desert! Stay tuned to Fanboy Headquarters for continued stories from Arizona and follow us on Facebook and Twitter too!
